A high-energy, core-strengthening, boundaries-challenging inversion workshop focusing on three inversions in the vinyasa practice: headstand, forearm stand and handstand.
From warm-up and maintenance exercises to tips and tricks for building strength, we will explore new ways of moving your body through space.
Explore your own practice in a safe and comfortable environment while challenging your boundaries. Explore your capability to be unsteady, to fall and get back up, and maybe… just maybe fly for a few seconds.
Note: Partnering, assisting, and wall support will be used liberally.
WHO: YOU! Those new to the inversion practice will learn tips for building strength in their every day practice, experienced students may find targeted strengthening allows for breakthroughs they’ve been missing, and advanced students can try new transitions and sequences to their inversion practice.
WHY: Inversions help improve circulation, energize the body, challenge the mind, and build confidence.
ABOUT THE FACILITATORS: Babajide and Erica both have a passion for the physical and spiritual side of the practice of yoga. Inversions teach the student how to get up and over themselves, face their fears, and develop an inward awareness of their bodies in the present space. Exploring these themes on their own mats transformed and evolved them both and deepened their commitment and enthusiasm for the practice of yoga.
