The answer to the question, “Am I doing this right?”
Yoga Lab: Backbends focuses on the science of the physical yoga poses and serves as a learning environment ideal for the student who wants to develop a deeper, more intelligent practice.
Yoga Lab: Backbends is a foray into healthy spinal extension (i.e., back bending). In this workshop, you will learn and practice techniques to develop both strength and flexibility in several forms of heart openers, including prone (e.g., dhanurasana or downward facing bow), supine (e.g., urdhva dhanurasana or upward facing bow), and standing (e.g., natarjasana or dancer; ustrasana or camel) backbends.
Gain biomechanical principles that are often absent in public classes due to time and space limitations, providing new insights that will facilitate the opening of the shoulders, neck, spine, hips, and legs.
Corinne will interact one-on-one with students to facilitate specific and refined back bending techniques from an anatomical perspective. This workshop is also ideal for teachers who want to learn how to effectively build a class focused on backbends or who wish to learn more safety cues to help students with their backbends.
